As an official ADCC tournament, we follow ADCC World Federation Rules. You can find the rules here: ADCC Worldwide Official Rules. For Beginners and Intermediates, additional rules apply: Beginner/Intermediate Rules.
The English Open Championships is open to athletes from anywhere in the World. You do not need to be a UK resident to compete.
A Birth Certificate or proof of age is required for age brackets. Proof of age will be required at weigh-in.
Beginner: Less than 2yrs training in BJJ, Judo, Wrestling, Sambo etc. + No Professional MMA fights.
Intermediate: 2yrs-4yrs training & no major/top level medals in Grappling, Wrestling, Sambo etc. or competed in any professional MMA fights.
Advanced: 5yrs+ training - suited for non full time athletes.
Professional: 5yrs+ training - suited for full time athletes.
Intermediate: 2yrs-4yrs training & no major/top level medals in Grappling, Wrestling, Sambo etc. or competed in any professional MMA fights.
Advanced: 5yrs+ training - suited for non full time athletes.
Professional: 5yrs+ training - suited for full time athletes.
You are allowed to enter two experience levels, but for the following event you can only enter the higher of the two levels. Once you have competed at a level, you cannot move back to a lower level (exception: Pro moving to Masters). There is a 20% discount for entering 2 categories.
Enter the age group that you will be ON THE DAY of the tournament.
All athletes weigh in on the event day from 8:30am up until 1 hour before their bracket starts. There is a 0.0 weight allowance at the scale. Athletes are only required to weigh once prior to competing. Brackets can change due to submissions, so keep an eye on Smoothcomp.
